The Happening - Poster
About an airborne virus that starts in where else than New York. The virus first makes people delusional, forgetful, and so forth. Then they might start walking backwards. Then they kill themselves. This they have no control of because the virus wipes out the self preservation part of their brain. So the movie follows a science teacher, his wife, and his fellow teacher’s daughter as they try and dodge the virus. To find out what makes the virus, well, you’ll just have to watch the movie. (Starring Mark Wahlburg)
Cloverfield - Poster
Boy, this one got some hype. Cloverfield. Cloverfield is a story told by the same point of view as the Blair Witch Project, the shaky camera. Or in this case, the really shaky camera. I feel sorry for those who went to the theaters to see this, they must have thrown up. Anyway, I really enjoyed this movie. But I thought it’s setting was a little cliche, Manhattan. Sure, they thought New York was a little overused for monster movies, so let’s use Manhattan, number #2 on the Top Settings Used For Monster Movies List. This movie wasn’t very good via some other people’s opinions, but I really thought it was worth it. A ginormous monster throwing the Statue of Liberty’s head around, now that was hardcore.
Hancock - Poster
This was a good movie starring Will Smith. It’s about an alcoholic superhero who lives in Los Angeles. His powers include supersonic flight, immortality, super-strength and invulnerability. While fighting crime, Hancock causes mass damage like those big green signs that say stuff like “Next Exit - 46 Miles” or something being broken in half and hitting cars. This costs the city hundreds of dollars resulting in court subpoenas which Hancock routinely ignores. One day he meets PR spokesperson Ray Embrey. Ray tries to fix Hancock’s temper and his relationship with the city of LA. By the way, LA REALLY hates this guy.
I am Legend - Poster
Here’s a little quote from Wikipedia that greatly sums up the movie:
[Will] Smith plays virologist Robert Neville, who is immune to a vicious man-made virus originally created to cure cancer. He works to create a cure while living in Manhattan in 2012, a city inhabited by animalistic victims of the virus.
Manhattan, again. Anyway, here’s another Will Smith movie that I LOVED!!!!!! When I first finished watching this movie, I was like, WOW. Oh, and for people who watched this movie before, did you notice that when Neville spots his mannequin by the place where he gets trapped did you notice that when the camera zooms in on the mannequin the mannequins head slightly turns? Freaky.
